BOP Chain Hoist Handling Systems

20 to 200 metric ton capacity

Designed to meet or exceed specifications of one or more of the following regulatory bodies - the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), UK HSE, Lloyds Register of Shipping (LRS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for the oilwell drilling industry

All BOP Handling Systems are comprised of two trolley-mounted hoists; each of which is rated at one-half the complete system capacity.

Features

  • Rugged, Oil Field Tough Design Features

    All steel and cast iron construction. 100% duty cycle. True vertical lift. Fully enclosed, planetary gearing. Zinc plated load chain. Corrosion resistant fasteners, Corrosion resistant Marine 812 finish paint. All hooks ride on bearings for easier movement under load. Water drains, grease points on all bottom blocks. Lifting lugs for easy installation. Galvanized steel chain container. Trolley guide rollers, rubber bumpers, and rail sweeps. Manufacturer test certificate and maintenance manual.

  • Enhanced Safety

    5:1 design factor. Automatic Fail Safe, multi disc, motor brake on hoist. Upper and lower limit travel switches. 16 and 22 mm heat treated and calibrated load chain per Din 5684.

  • Suitable for Hazardous Explosion Proof Environments

    Air motors (unlike electric motors) are inherently explosion proof. Spark and corrosion resistant versions available.

  • Versatile Design

    Low and Ultra-Low™ versions available. Articulated trolley allows limited side pulling operations. Options include: Spark and corrosion resistant (S•COR•E) packages. Rack and pinion trolley drive for positive traction. Clevis and shackle attachment in lieu of bottom hook. Festooning systems. CE compliant models including overload protection and main emergency stop device. Corrosion resistant Marine 812-X paint system. Sandblast and carbozinc (primer only). Custom designed air control consoles.
