ANNANDALE, N.J. — Ingersoll-Rand Productivity Solutions, a leading supplier of tools and technologies for the automotive and motorcycle industries, announced the two winners of the Ingersoll-Rand “Win-A-Chopper” contest November 2 at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Jason League, a technician from Buffalo Grove, Ill., was the winner of the custom-built titanium-themed chopper (valued at $75,000). The winner of “The Ultimate Ingersoll-Rand Garage” was Timothy Rester, a shop owner from Hattiesburg, Miss.
The contest, which was launched at the 2004 APPEX Show in Las Vegas, asked individuals to submit a 100-word essay explaining, “Why I couldn’t do without my Ingersoll-Rand tools.” Throughout the year, judges selected one winner each month to receive three of the latest Ingersoll-Rand automotive tools. The monthly winners were then eligible for the grand prize: a titanium-themed Ingersoll-Rand chopper custom-built by Orange County Choppers (as seen on the Discovery Channel). The second place winner received “The Ultimate Ingersoll-Rand Garage” — $5,000 worth of Ingersoll-Rand tools and equipment. Judges for the year-long contest were Ray Evernham, president and CEO of Evernham Motorsports, and Car and Driver Radio host Alan Taylor.
“We are truly excited to be able to show our appreciation to all of the professional mechanics and enthusiasts who rely on Ingersoll-Rand tools and have helped make Ingersoll-Rand one of the most widely used and trusted brand of tools and equipment,” said Leif Selstad, director of worldwide marketing for Ingersoll-Rand Vehicle Service.
All monthly winners were honored guests of Ingersoll-Rand at the SEMA Show, and participated in the presentation with Evernham and Taylor at the Car and Driver Radio booth.
